TB Control and Prevention

The mission of the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County's Tuberculosis Control and Prevention Program (TB Program) is to identify, treat, and prevent the spread of Tuberculosis disease in Miami-Dade County and control any related public health threat.

The goals of the TB Program are:

  1. To ensure the identification and treatment of all persons with active Tuberculosis disease.
  2. To ensure that persons at high risk of progressing towards the disease are identified and receive prophylaxis thereby preventing future occurrence of Tuberculosis disease in the county.
