Information on Mosquito-borne Illness Alert in Miami-Dade County
In 2023, there is 1 locally acquired dengue case in Miami-Dade County. In 2022, there were 64 locally acquired dengue cases, including a cluster of four cases in a single Miami neighborhood. Dengue is spread by the bite of an infected mosquito and is not normally present in Florida. However, infected travelers can bring the virus back to Florida mosquitoes.
