Welcome to the United States, the State of Florida, and Miami-Dade County. Health care in Florida may be different from the health care in your native country.

This web site includes general information about the services available to you and your family, a summary of the health care services that are covered under Florida's Refugee Health Program, and a description of terms used in the health care system. Florida's Refugee Health Program is a leader in providing culturally sensitive health services to all refugees in search for a better life and self-sufficiency in America. The primary goal of the Refugee Health Program is to offer protection of public health from communicable disease through the review of overseas medical examination records and the provision of health screenings and immunizations. The health assessment will help identify and treat conditions that could keep you from getting a job and is needed by all children entering public school.

Mission: The Miami-Dade County Refugee Health Assessment Program has a dual mission: 1) protect the health of the general population in Miami-Dade County by identifying eligible newly arriving refugees with communicable diseases, and 2) reduce and/or eliminate health-related barriers that adversely impact the effective resettlement of eligible newly arriving refugees into our community.

Vision: Our vision is to be a leader in providing culturally sensitive health assessments, immunizations, and referrals for follow-up health care services to eligible newly arriving refugees in Miami-Dade County.

Clinic hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Monday through Friday
