Miami, FL - The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County in partnership with Miami-Dade County Office of Community Advocacy and AIGA Miami will host a “Getting 2 Zero” PosterFest Design for Good Pop-UP Art Exhibit at HistoryMiami Museum as part of the third annual “Getting 2 Zero” Awareness Week Campaign which this year focuses on HIV testing and condoms. Nine new condom wrappers will be unveiled.  Please see the attached flyer.

Date: Wednesday, February 26, 2020
Address: 101 W Flagler Street, Miami, Florida 33130
Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

In 2017, resolution 622-17 declared the third week in February as "Getting 2 Zero Miami-Dade County Awareness Week" with the goal to get to zero new HIV/AIDS cases, zero AIDS related deaths, zero stigma, and zero discrimination. In 2018, Miami-Dade County launched branded condoms, which are available free of charge throughout Miami-Dade County.

In 2019, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade, AIGA Miami, and the Wolfsonian—FIU challenged local designers to create condom wrappers with educational messages as a response to South Florida’s devastating HIV / AIDS crisis.

Out of dozens of submissions, ten posters were chosen by a jury of professional designers and public health experts for the PosterFest 2019 Design for Good exhibition. These pieces address HIV from a range of perspectives and demonstrate the importance of education, testing, and prevention. Designers also created packaging for a limited-edition collection of condoms, which will be distributed free of charge to the public by the Department of Health this year. The PosterFest Design for Good Pop-Up aims to spur compassionate conversation, inspire community engagement, and combat stigma; and to celebrate the work of socially engaged design professionals.
