The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County Recognizes “Getting 2 Zero” HIV/AIDS Awareness Week

Miami, FL-The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County recognizes “Getting 2 Zero” HIV/AIDS Awareness Week. Miami-Dade County made a community investment to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In 2017, a resolution declared the third week in February as "Getting 2 Zero Miami-Dade County Awareness Week". The goal is to get to zero new HIV/AIDS cases, zero AIDS related deaths, zero stigma, and zero discrimination.

The 3^rd phase of the “Getting 2 Zero” HIV/AIDS awareness campaign will be from February 11^th to February 26^th, focusing on HIV testing and condoms. Participants will have the opportunity to be tested for various health screenings free of charge. The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County along with community partners will provide HIV/STD testing, glucose and blood pressure screenings, PrEP referrals, information on Women’s Health, Nutrition, Mental Health, and Opioids. 

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County in partnership with the Office of Community Advocacy will host this year’s signature event at the Government Center.
