With the Prize, RWJF honors communities that are fostering powerful partnerships to create an environment where all residents have the opportunity to live longer, healthier and more productive lives. Miami-Dade County was chosen from nearly 200 applicant communities across the country.

The Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade under the leadership of the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County serves as a platform for key stakeholders to join forces in order to create a Culture of Health in Miami-Dade through policy, systems and environmental changes. The Consortium is grateful to its partners, and County and City officials for their continued support. Join us as we celebrate and highlight the work that we have accomplished as a community.

“We are thrilled that Miami-Dade County has received the RWJF Culture of Health Prize; at the same time, we acknowledge the need for continuing our efforts toward building and sustaining a healthy Miami-Dade. This recognition will inspire us in making greater strides within our community,” stated Lillian Rivera, RN, MSN, PhD, Administrator /Health Officer of the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County.
