  • Sentinel Provider Influenza Surveillance - 10 providers enrolled in Miami-Dade
  • Sentinel Hospital Surveillance - 2 hospitals reporting
  • Surveillance of influenza and pneumonia deaths
  • Investigation of unexplained deaths of person ≤ 49 years old
  • Investigation of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreaks
  • Monitoring of 911 calls to identify trends of ILI
  • Implementation of emergency department based syndromic surveillance system
  • Blast fax capabilities to communicate with infection control practitioners and emergency departments
  • Formation of an Influenza Workgroup
  • Enhancing State Lab Miami Branch diagnostic capabilities
