DOH-Miami-Dade Recognizes National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS – March 6 - 12

Miami, Fla. –The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County recognizes National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS (NWPHA), March 6-12, 2016. The purpose of the 2016 National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS is to bring national attention to the AIDS epidemic in the United States and the extraordinary role faith communities can and are playing in AIDS prevention, education, service and advocacy.
In commemoration of NWPHA, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County will collaborate with Churches Untied to recognize the 2016 annual faith-based events (please see the attached flyer for schedule of events).
The National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS will promote the continuous national mobilization and education of faith communities to take an even greater role in the implementation of AIDS education and services within their local communities and across the nation.
