Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County Recognizes
National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

MIAMI - The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County Recognizes National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, February 7, 2015. This day allows us the opportunity to get educated, and get involved with HIV/AIDS prevention efforts in our community.  The goal is for Blacks to get tested and get into treatment if necessary.  The 2015 theme is “I Am My Brother’s and Sister’s Keeper. Fight HIV/AIDS!”

In Miami-Dade County, Black men and women account for 45% of all HIV infections through 2013.  We need to fight HIV/AIDS by talking about it with our family and friends without fear and stigma. Together we CAN make a difference!
