Miami, Fla. — In support of National Breastfeeding Month, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County (DOH-Miami-Dade) invites community members to attend the 15th Annual Breastfeeding Awareness Family Day Event on Saturday, August 22.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at:

Doral Legacy Park Community Center
11400 NW 82nd St.
Doral, FL 33178

The event will feature a “South Florida Latch-a-thon,” children’s activities, parent workshops, raffles, and more.

National Breastfeeding Month aims to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding through increased awareness. Breastfeeding helps create a powerful bond between mother and child. Studies have shown that breastfeeding can also reduce the risk of certain illnesses for both mom and baby, as well as support postpartum recovery.
